Kalahandi district Collector Gavali Parag has imposed restriction on entry to Bhawanipatna for two days in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19 during Durga Puja and Chhatar Yatra in the town.
Entry to the Bhawanipatna municipality area would be allowed only for medical/emergency purposes and any other purpose specifically allowed from October 23 to 25. Movement and gathering of people would be restricted to four persons at any point of time in the town from 12 midnight of October 23 to 12 midnight of October 25. All Executive Magistrates, other officers, officials of essential service departments carrying valid ID proofs/movement passes shall be exempted from the purview of this order.
Any person contravening this order shall be prosecuted under Section 188 of IPC, the order said.
The Collector informed that public participation in the Chhatar Yatra would not be allowed this year.
The event would be webcasted through social media by the district administration. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC have also been imposed, he said.
