Entertainment centre at city airport in offing

With a view to entertaining passengers during waiting hours, the Biju Patnaik International Airport here plans to develop an entertainment centre at its premises.

The airport authorities will have entertaining and engaging activities for the passengers. Besides regular kiosks and shopping stalls, the airport will play host to various events ranging from exhibitions to fashion shows, music and auto shows, gaming and many more.

Airport Director Sharad Kumar said as the airport would soon expand its international connectivity, the tourist footfall would rise in the State. “Along with regular exhibition on Odisha culture and tradition that gives visitors an insight to the State, a range of engaging activities shall be undertaken to entertain the travelers,” he added.

“Waiting hours is the most irksome part of travelling. Different events will provide much needed relief and entertainment to the passengers,” said city-based entrepreneur Satyabrata Ratho,  a regular flyer.
