The Odisha Engineers’ Service Association (OESA) has threatened to resort to agitation in protest against the Government apathy towards their demands.
“The Chief Minister in 2010 had assured us to take initiatives to address our demands which included direct recruitment of degree engineers at junior class-I level, removal of pay anomalies, restructure of the engineering cadres, filling up of vacant posts, formation of engineering cadre in Panchayati Raj Department, incentive for higher studies and special pay to engineers posts. None of the promises has been fully complied with,” said association president Dwaipayan Pattanaik. The association at its executive body meeting held recently decided to resort to agitation if the Government fails to fulfil all its assurances given by Chief Minister in letter and spirit within next three months.
