Two railway personnel, including a gangman, were killed and five others seriously injured when an engine collided their maintenance trolley, which was carrying a track inspection team of seven persons at Tikiria on the Tata-Badampahar line on Saturday.
The five injured persons sustained minor injuries as they jumped from the trolley before the engine hit it. Budhuram Mahali, gangman, and SM Salim, a contractor, died on the spot. The injured were being treated at the Rairangpur Government hospital. Meanwhile, senior railway officials rushed to the spot and started investigation.
