The Enforcement Squads of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday carried out a couple of anti- encroachment drives in the city.
In the first eviction, the joint squad removed some encroachments from the main gate of the Janata Maidan, near the Swosti Premium Hotel. Eighty-nine unauthorised temporary polythene seasonal garment sheds were demolished by the joint squad. The eviction drive was carried out peacefully by BDA and BMC without the help of police force.
In the second eviction, road side encroachments from Satya Nagar Smasan to Vani Vihar Square were removed. A Trinath temple, six cabins, three extended sheds and two polythene sheds (shops) were demolished. The eviction drive was carried out peacefully.
