Ahead of Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018, a joint team of the BDA and the BMC conducted an eviction drive and freed many encroachments from near the boundary wall of the Kalinga Stadium here on Tuesday.
Seven tin-shed shops, six bamboo polythene sheds, three asbestos slum houses and nine cabins were demolished/
In another such drive, a team demolished unauthorised structures on a 0.61-acre Government land in Bahadalpur Mouza under the Air-Field Police Station. The land is meant for laying of trunk sewer by the OWSSB.
The two evictions were conducted peacefully without police force, said an official release.
