Encroachments in Gangua Nala cleared

Entire obstructions in Gangua Nala (drain) near Nuagaon petrol pump in lingipur Mouza were cleared on Monday for free flow of storm water to avoid waterlogging in the city.As per the requisition of the Drainage Division Executive Engineer, the joint eviction team consisting of BDA, GA, Drainage Division and Commissionerate Police removed Hume pipes filled with morum illegally constructed by one Ghanashyam Bhati and Subash Chandra Panda.  

All master drains, including masonry drains of the capital city are connected with Gangua Nala for free discharge of storm water.The eviction team on July 3 had evicted some portion of encroachments but could not complete the operation due to rain and lack of poclain machine.The eviction drive was conducted successfully without any opposition. Adequate security arrangements were made to avert any eventuality.
