A joint eviction team on Thursday bulldozed encroachments from both sides of Janpath from Ram Mandir Square to Master Canteen Square for observance of the Rahagiri Day every Sunday beginning from January 17.
The squad consisting of officials from the BDA, the BMC and the Commissionerate Police demolished 15 wooden cabins, 25 bamboo-shed shops.
BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Patro, liaising Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty and BMC Assistant Commissioner (Enforcement) Mulla Mahamad Ali and Kharvel Nagar police station IIC Sanjib Satapathy were present during the drive.
A platoon of APRF personnel was engaged at the site to maintain law and order.
