A joint eviction team consisting of officials from the BDA and the BMC on Monday demolished encroachment from a house in possession of one Suprava Otta under the Baramunda Housing Scheme under the Khandagiri police station.
The House has been allotted to Otta since 1993. She was allowed to take advance possession of the house by allotment branch of the BDA. While handing over, it was found that the building was occupied by some strangers, for which the Allotment Officer requested the Enforcement Section to vacate the house.
During the eviction, a polythene-shed was demolished in front of the house and the house was completely vacated by the squad.
Enforcement Officer (BDA) Pramod Patro, liasioning Officer, BDA, Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty, BDA Enforcement Inspector and Enforcement Assistant, Zone ACP PK Swain along with Police officials from Khandagiri Police Station were present. Gents APR Force and One Section lady Force were also present at the site to maintain law and order during the demolition drive.
