Continuing its eviction drive spree in the city, the joint enforcement squad consisting of BDA, BMC, GAD and Commissionerate police on Monday cleared the encroachments on Government land in the laxmisagar area.
The squad demolished an AC-sheeted structure built on Government land bearing plot number 682(Pt), Khata No 1988 in laxmisagar. One Akshaya Kumar Das had encroached nearly 50 decimal land on the same plot. The eviction squad swung into action after getting request from the General Administration department Additional land Officer for removal of the encroachments.
The Executive Engineer-IV has been directed to fix Government sign post on the plot, besides erecting barbed wire around the land. While two platoons of APR gents and one section of lady police forces were deployed to maintain law and order situation two excavators were engaged for the demolition.
The drive was conducted under the direct supervision of BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Kumar Patra.
