'Enact law for Odia language Commission'

Published on:

The Bhasha Surakshya Sammilani on Friday demanded the State Government to enact a legislation in the State Assembly during the ongoing Monsoon session for establishment of a language Commission and provision of punishment for the violators during implementation of the Odisha Official language Act, 1954.

The Sammilani alleged that the State Government has passed the amendment Bill on August 16, 2016 but though till now a year has passed, the law is not being implemented and the Government files are not being written in Odia.

Taking from the Chief Minister to the Ministers, nobody is putting their signatures in Odia. This is a treachery with the law, the Odia language and the people of the State, said Sammilani president Baishnab Parida.

Parida urged the MlAs to raise the issue in the current session in the Assembly.
