The Rourkela Ispat Karakhana Karmachari Sangh (RIKKS) has expressed its strong opposition against the MoU signed between the State Government and the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) for execution of the project AAHAAR in Rourkela.
Briefing newsmen here on Sunday, RIKKS General Secretary Babaji Sahoo alleged that the RSP management is unable to provide quality food to its employees in canteens though it has agreed to spend Rs2.75 crore rupees, per annum on the same and earlier it had been spending Rs5 crore, per annum to provide Mid-Day meal to 55 thousand students of its periphery through the Akshaya Patra project. Sahoo further alleged that the RSP management is not repairing the workers’ quarters nor paying the arrears for the last nine months; rather it is involved in nasty politics aligning with the State Government.
