A three-day 30th annual general conference of the Sambalpur Division life Insurance Employees' Association concluded here on Sunday with All India Insurance Employees’ Association (AIIEA) joint secretary B Sanyal, Eastern Zone general secretary Srikant Mishra expressing their views.
At the opening ceremony, it was stated that the insurance sector is passing through a transitional stage after the Modi Government came to power at the Centre as everywhere a negative development is noticed and the declaration of economic development by the Union Government has been a total failure.
The move by the Centre to pass a Bill in Parliament utilising 49 per cent capital and privatisation of the insurance sector with the support of the Congress has really been unfortunate', said Sanyal while inaugurating the conference. He further stated that the move is a challenge for all to ensure safety of the insurance industry.
WODC Chairman Kishore Kumar Mohanty attended the conference as a guest and appealed to all to work united to get desired results. Bargarh MP Pravas Singh lent his support for the insurance employees in all respects.
