For the first time, employees of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) boycotted the council’s foundation day celebrations here on Sunday.

The employees, who have resorted to indefinite strike since September 1 demanding shifting of the CHSE Chairman and Secretary and action against the erring officials involved in the irregularities in the annual Plus

Two examinations held earlier this year, chose to stay away from the official function of the CHSE’s 33rd Foundation Day. While the CHSE authorities hoisted the council’s flag at the headquarters premises, the employees performed a yajna instead.

The employees maintained that they decided to boycott the celebrations due to the adamant attitude of the officials. However, CHSE Chairman Prof Basudev Chhatoi said the employees’ allegation is untrue.

But the silence of the State Government over the week-long stalemate at the CHSE is surprising, which has very badly affected the rechecking of Plus 2 answer sheets.
