Trained graduate teachers under the banner of the All Odisha Elementary Trained Graduate (TG) Teachers’ Association have planned to hold a rally here on December 19to press for fulfilment of their longstanding demands.
Prior to this, the teachers across all the districts would assemble at their respective district headquarters and submit memorandums to the Chief Minister through the Collectors on December 5
Through a Press statement, association president laxman Mohanty alleged that while the State Government is claiming to have taken several steps to improve the elementary education in the State; in reality, the callous attitude of the Government is creating a disturbing scenario in both elementary and higher education system.
The demands include immediate implementation of the modified Cadre Rules-14, appointment of subject specific teachers in upper primary schools, implementation of TG (trained graduate) scale for TG teachers, separation of Class-VIII from high schools, creation of head master posts in all upper primary and project primary schools, recruitment of elementary teachers in 80 per cent of administrative posts and financial aid for students for their projects, said secretary Muralidhar Nayak.
