An electrician died while repairing a transformer near the Sadar police station here on Friday. The identity of the deceased was yet to be ascertained.
The incident triggered resentment among other workers of the electricity department as they alleged that the worker died since he was forcefully engaged for the repair work.
The Central Electricity Supply Utility (Cesu) has advised consumers to check the internal wiring before restoring utility power supply to their houses.
Consumers are also requested to disconnect generator, if used, to avoid back feeding to the power distribution system and any kind of electrical accident.
The hostels in the university campus would reopen from May 28.
