The month-long Ramadan fest ended on Monday here in a cumulative ritual Eid-ul-Fitr celebration among Muslims.
Thousands of Muslims thronged various mosques in several locations of Jagatsinghpur district, offered Namaz and exchanged greetings for each other, pronouncing Eid Mubarak.
The main Eid Ul Fitr celebration was held at the district headquarters town where thousands of Muslims converged at Budhanasi Pira Pitha at Court Chhak and offered Eid Namaz. They exchanged Eid Mubarak greeting after hugging each other and later took out a procession.
The Muslim preachers appealed their community people to adhere to the principles enshrined in the holy Koran, maintaining peace and tranquility in society and good relationships with non-Muslim counterparts.
Reports said that Muslims had greeted their Hindu and other religion people in several areas. The event passed off peacefully across the district.
