Efforts for Amarda Rd airstrip renovation

Published on:

In order to press  its demand for renovation of the dilapidated British era airstrip at Amarda Road, the ‘Voice of Balasore’, a civil society body,  has claimed  to intensify  its movement.

President of the organisation Arajit Ghosal said a group of people under the banner of 'North Odisha Tourism Development Council' held a foot march recently from Rasgobindapur to Bhubaneswar and a memorandum  was submitted  to the Governor of Odisha for the President of India to make the unused and dilapidated airfield operational which would establish air communication of north Odisha with other parts of country  and further boost  economic activities  thorough  trade and commerce.

He said that they had  discussions with  some State Ministers and leaders  and further they would apprise about  their demand to the Union Civil Aviation Minister in near future.

Further, in order to mobilise the opinion and garner support  of the public, they would  hold meetings in  blocks and headquarters level, said Ghosal.
