Governor SC Jamir on Friday emphasised on development of effective healthcare models to ensure that health service reaches both urban and rural populations at the earliest.

“The healthcare delivery gap is huge in the country. The public health system needs expansion. Effective healthcare system should be developed so as to reach urban as well as rural population,” Jamir said while inaugurating the annual celebration of Mil-Al Heart Foundation (MHF) here.

Jamir praised the efforts of MHF-Korea, (Odisha) saying, “Odisha is keeping pace with sophisticated equipments and proficiencies in cardiology and cardiac care. This is where MHF plays important role by giving priority to poor patients who are unable to afford the costly heart care.”

Among others, founder of MHF-Korea lee JJ, MHF-India’s secretary Bharat lim, project director Choi JH and head of Cardio Thoracic Department of the SCB Medical College Hospital Prof NK Patnaik were present.
