The closing down of educational institutions on Monday by the State Government irked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which accused the Government of supporting the Jan Akrosh protest called by the opposition parties in protest against the demonetisation of high-value notes.
“It shows the double standard of the State’s ruling party. On one hand, it welcomed the Central Government’s decision and made some suggestions to ease the sufferings of people and on the other hand, it closed down the educational institutions,” said Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
“It seems the State Government is indirectly supporting the (demonetisation) protest,” said Pradhan.
