In the light of Covid-19 pandemic, the ECoR Central Hospital at Mancheswar is now utilising a medical robot called Med Robo to assist hospital staffs to serve Covid patients and assist the management of medical wards in serving medicines, food and remote assistance, without any need for physical contact.

With the help of the robot, doctors, nurses and other medical staff will now be prevented from repeatedly wearing PPE kits while entering the Covid wards for routine rounds. It will help them to stay away from the risks of contacting virus. The Med Robo is operated through a unique mobile app that has been developed as part of the innovation, supported by the WiFi facility.

The Med Robo supports sensor based features, which are capable to read patients’ body temperature and transmit the same for display on the mobile phone.

In case of any abnormal high-temperature reading, the Med Robo is capable of raising an alarm so as to alert the hospital staff attending to the patients.
