The East Coast Railway Engineers’ Association (ECoREA) felicitated Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi on Wednesday after he has been nominated as a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways.
More than 50 railway engineers led by ECoREA secretary Bobin Mohanty welcomed Majhi at the airport here after his arrival from New Delhi. The engineers discussed with him their long-pending issues and development of railway infrastructures in Odisha.
Majhi, who is an engineer, assured them that he would make best efforts for development of railways in the State and also put the grievances of railway engineers before the committee headed by ex-Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi.
“Being an ex-senior railway officer and having good experience in railways for more than 26 years, he (Majhi) will definitely serve the State better than others in the field of development of railways,” ECoREA secretary Mohanty said, adding, “He is also acquainted with the nature of our duties and responsibilities.”
