The Saheed Nagar police on Monday arrested Simax Builder Private limited managing director Nirmal Kumar Behera (42) on the charge of duping a customer of `5 lakh in fraudulent land deals.
Earlier on August 10, Behera had also been arrested for duping two persons but was later released on bail.According to the police, Behera duped one Jagdish Gupta of Muradakhan Patna of the Malgodown police station area in Cuttack of around Rs 5 lakh by promising him to give a plot of 2000 sqft at Chandaka.
After two years of the agreement, when Gupta failed to get either the promised plot or the deposited money, he lodged an FIR against Behera on Monday.
Earlier, the police had nabbed Behera for duping two customers, Saroj Kumar Kar of Kabisuryanagar in Ganjam and Braja Ballav Bhanja of Dumduma in Bhubaneswar, of around Rs 7 lakh on the pretext to give them land.
