A District Panchayat Resource Centre would be established at each district headquarters at a cost of Rs 2 crore, law Minister Arun Sahoo informed the Assembly on Tuesday. The Minister said this while replying to questions.
“A total of nine District Panchayat Resource Centres were sanctioned in 2013-14 and other nine in the current year (2014-15). Such centres will be sanctioned for other districts gradually,” Sahoo said, adding that each centre will come up at a cost of Rs 2 crore.
These centres are being built under the Rajiv Gandhi Pancyati Sashaktikaran Abhiyan (RGPSA). To provide meeting facility to PRI members at panchayat level, the Minister said Bharat Nirman Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra are being constructed at each panchayat.
