The BJP held a daylong demonstration in front of the SP office here and submitted a memorandum to the Director General of Police demanding immediate arrest of both district Collector Sashi Bhusan Padhi and PA-ITDA Gorachand Gomango terming them as totally responsible for the suicide of DWO Dhaneswar Prusty.
BJP workers alleged that the BJD Government is consciously adopting manipulative tactics to protect the Collector and, hence, ordered a State Crime Branch inquiry into the incident which is eyewash. The Crime Brach abysmally failed to trace the real culprits in the Itishree murder case while the Bhagirathi Mandangi murder still remains unresolved. So, the BJP demands a CBI inquiry in the DWO suicide case, the memorandum said.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Rayagada Bar Association resolved to have a cessation of work in the Rayagada Court on Friday in demand of justice to the family of the deceased DWO.
The Congress, which had gheraoed the local police station on Wednesday demanding arrest of the Collector and PA-ITDA in the DWO suicide case, has already called a total Rayagada Bandh on Friday.
