The 'World Duty Day’ was celebrated on Friday (June 30) across Bhadrak district.
The existence of human lives is possible due to the contributions, dedications and sacrifices of many people but most of them go unrecognised. So it is the duty of the State and society to implement policies for the proper identification of noble duties and their contributions for the society, said activist Radhakanta Tripathy who organised the Day.
As part of the celebration, awareness among people about their duties for the society as responsible and concerned citizens was created. Here the duties are not only confined to the human beings only but animals, birds and environment are included, said Tripathy.
The day was observed among different walks of society including the inhabitants of Dagamunda Leprosy Colony of Bhadrak. The celebrations were in different forms like distribution of food among destitute and stray animals. Volunteers from different parts of the district took part in the celebration.
