Ace Olympian sprinter Dutee Chand has now stepped into business enterprise.

Recently, she opened two hotels named ‘DT Delights’ in Bhubaneswar with an objective to provide jobs to unemployed youths and establish herself as an entrepreneur.

Initially, Dutee, who has selected the twin city of Bhubaneswar ad Cuttack for her hotel projects, has a target of launch a chain of 100 hotels in next two to three years across the State.

Dutee has opened two hotels, one at Sailashree Vihar and the other near the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, as a partnership business. An agreement has been made with OYO, an online hotel booking application, for 10 years. Her business associate is one Saroj Kumar Mishra.

Dutee has reportedly said, “Initially, we received zero response as the rooms were not filled with guests after opening up the hotels. Later, the issue was resolved. Now, we register record bookings for the rooms.”

“More than 10 youths from my locality have been engaged in my hotels. With an increase in the number of hotels in future, the recruitment percentage will rise accordingly,” Dutee told the ‘Sambad’, adding that she has spent all her reward money in her business.

Besides her target for 100 hotels, she is also planning to open a five-star hotel designed for Olympians, she said.

Moreover, Dutee also wants to help the poor weavers of her native place in Jajpur district. “I am going to set up a trust that will work for the weavers,” she revealed.
