The festival celebrating victory of truth over evil, known as Dussehra, went off smooth in Jharsuguda town. While pomp and grandeur marked the event, the burning of effigy of Ravana on Wednesday evening came up with big fire show.
Like earlier years, this year also Ravan effigy burning was held in the Manmohan School ground by Shiva Shakti Durga Puja Committee and in Sarbahal School ground by Om Shree Durga Puja Committee with fire show. Inspite of light rain in the township, people gathered in thousands to witness the Ravana Dahan show.

Coordinated by Marwari Yuva Manch, the procession of Lord Ram, Laxman and monkey troupe reached the Manmohan School ground at 7.30 pm. Samiti secretary Pyarelal Srivastav coordinated the cultural programme after which Ravana Dahan event was organised.
