An  engineer from Sundargarh district, now working  in Jamnagar, Gujarat,  was  allegedly  cheated by  his  wife  of  lakhs  of  rupees. More shockingly, the accused did never tell him that she had married earlier and separated with her former husband.

The victim youth lodged a FIR in the Jamnagar police station against his wife and the Gujarat police reached Rourkela and searched for the accused. However, since the accused was absconding, the police team went back empty-handed.

According  to  sources, Rajesh   works  as  an  engineer  in  l&T  in Jamnagar  Gujarat. Rajesh’s  father  earlier  was  working  in  l&T ,  Kansbahal  in Sundargarh  district.  One Rita’s (name changed)   father was also working  in  l&T ,  Kansbahal.  Both Rajesh’s family and Rita’s family had known each other.

After retirement  of  fathers  of  Rajesh  and Rita,  they  went  to  their  respective  villages.   Rajesh after getting a job in l&T Jamnagar had gone thereto work.

Rita had married one youth of Dhenkanal on November 29, 2009.  She had stayed with her for two years. later, she separated  from him over some dispute and  lodged  a  dowry  torture case  against  him  in  Kujang  police  station.

After being separated, she had come to her parents’ house. Rita in January, 2012, had requested old friend Rajesh for friendship on facebook. Rajesh had no idea about Rita’s earlier marriage and separation but Rita had constantly enticed Rajesh to marry her. Rajesh finally had done for court marriage with Rita at Jamnagar on January 13, 2016. Rita stayed with Rajesh at Jamnagar for about two months after marriage and had got Rajesh’s ATM card to use.

Rita  one  day  had  told  Rajesh  that  she  would  go  to see  her ailing  mother  at  Rourkela.  After  coming  to  Rourkela,  Rita  had  taken  plea  before  Rajesh  that  she  would  take  banking coaching  and  had  not  returned  to  Jamnagar  after  five  months of her departure  from  Jamnagar.   Rajesh   used  to  send Rs 10,000 per  month  towards  Rita’s  ailing  mother’s  expenses and Rita’s coaching  expenses.  Rita also used to take money from  his  ATM  card  to  spend  and  had  allegedly  drawn  more than Rs 5 lakh from  Rajesh’s account.

Suddenly, one day Rajesh found Rita’s mobile was switched off. Rajesh  suspected  the act  of  Rita  and when  he  enquired  about  Rita  from one of her  friends, he  was  shocked  to  know  about  Rita’s  earlier life  and  he  had  been  duped  by  Rita.  When  Rajesh could not contact  Rita,  he  lodged  a  FIR  in  Jamnagar  police  station.
