The Arthika Sansthamanankadwara Kshatigrastanka Milita Manch (ASKMM), a body of duped chit fund investors in the State, would hold a Mahasamabesh (massive rally) in Bhubaneswar on June 10 demanding return of the investors’ money.
ASKMM convener Jayant Das said around one lakh of investors would attend the Mahasamabesh to impose pressure on the Government to make early arrangement to return their duped money.
He said both the State and Central Governments didn’t keep their promises to help the poor gullible investors of Odisha. During the rally of investors in Delhi last year, Das said, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had assured them to look into the matter by amending the Centre’s finance-related laws, but in vain.
Das said the investigation by both the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe is undergoing at a slow pace. Even the ED’s lawyer was involved in the scam which is unfortunate, he added.
Before the Mahasamabesh, the Manch would hold conventions at block and district levels between April 15 and May 15 to create awareness among the investors to file claims before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in order to get the money back.
