A day after a bunch of voter identity cards issued to people of Puri, Brahmagiri and Kakatpur Assembly constituencies under the Puri lok Sabha seat were found in a dumping ground at Mali Sahi, Congress candidate for the Bramhagiri Assembly constituency lalatendu Bidyadhar (lulu) Mohapatra on Tuesday urged the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mona Sharma to take appropriate steps so that the card losers can cast their votes.
“This is a very serious issue. The CEO should take up the issue and initiate prompt action in order to ensure that the card losers are not deprived of voting rights,” Mohapatra told reporters here. He said he has sent 157 Voter ID cards which were collected by him to the CEO for necessary action. A complaint to this effect was registered at the Kharvela Nagar police station on Monday and the case is now under investigation process, sources said.
