Students of the Ravenshaw University here under the banner of the All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) staged a demonstration in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s office on Friday demanding withdrawal of hiked
admission fees, readmission fees and hostel admission fees in the university.
They submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor in this regard. led by AIDSO president Shivani Sahu, vice-president Shubhasmita Sahu, secretary Amarendra Nayak, Pratyutapna Nayak, Ronali Nayak, Sachhiranjan Behera and Manoj Das met the VC.
The Ravenshaw authorities have increased the application and admission fees from graduation to PhD course from this academic session. Courses like BEd and entrepreneurships have been opened in self-financing mode, said AIDSO members and self-financing and PG courses’ fees have been increased by `5,000.
