A youth thrashed his grandfather to death in an inebriated state at Mundasahi village under the Champua police limits in Keonjhar district on Thursday.
Bijay Munda created ruckus in the house after consuming liquor. His grandfather Raaj Munda opposed his act, following which he attacked the former with a crowbar.
The old man sustained critical injuries and was admitted to the Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The accused was arrested.
