A reporter working for the OTV for Nuapada district has alleged that he has been threatened of life by a drug trafficker of Komna town in the district. Reporter Mayadhar Saraf has filed an FIR at the Komna police station in this regard. The police have started investigation into the matter.
Saraf said he had brought out a report in the OTV about the joint police-excise raid on the house of one Jagmohan Saraf and seizures of 960 bottles of Corex syrup on March 1. Jagmohan and his brother Banjia abused him stating that the news has lowered their prestige and even warned him of dire consequences, the reporter alleged.
He further alleged that some goons attacked his house on Saturday afternoon and broke window grills. Illegal trafficking of Corex syrup is a regular affair in Komna town. The police have recovered hundreds of bottles from different traffickers in the past, but there is no end to this trafficking.
