In a major crackdown on the increasing drug racket in the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the Commissionerate police on Mondayarrested kingpin of the illicit business Pramod Jena alias Gulshan from the CDA Phase-II area of Cuttack.
Besides, two aides of Jena were also nabbed. The police seized 350 gram of brown sugar, a car, three mobile phones and cash from their possession.
Sources said the market price of the seized contraband would be around Rs7 lakh.
Acting on a tipoff, the police raided the house in the area and arrested all three.
Jena was in police radar after the illegal drug peddling at the Haladipadia slum of the capital city made headlines last month. Ever since, police were tracking his activities and were in search of a suitable time to nab him.
Reportedly, Jena used to get the contraband from Jaleswar and supply it in the city through agents.
