Drug issue: SAD asks Jakhar to take action against accused MP, MlAs

Published on:

Senior SAD ministers urged ClP leader Sunil Jakhar not to play politics on drugs under pressure from vested interests and instead take action against Jalandhar MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, Youth Congress president Raja Warring and former Bholath MlA Sukhpal Khaira who had been tainted with drug charges recently.

“It is strange that the ClP leader has allowed himself to get pressurised from vested interests into demanding a privilege motion against Majithia despite having given a clean chit to him in Vidhan Sabha earlier,” said Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Sharanjit

Singh Dhillon and Gulzar Singh Ranike in a joint statement.

They said: “Jakhar is on record to having said in the Vidhan Sabha that he did not believe Majithia has anything to do with drugs.

In the light of this admission and statement, any

privilege motion proposal does not have any meaning.”
