Sanjay Kumar Barik (28), a resident of Kanipada under the Sadar police limits, was allegedly shot dead by some miscreants on Thursday night.
The reason behind the suspected firing was yet to be ascertained, informed Kendrapara SP Satish Gajviye.Sanjay, who was a driver at a Hajari-based bleaching plant, was found dead at the Meranga turning point on the roadside of the Ichhapur-Angulai road.The deceased’s father lodged an FIR alleging that his son was killed in firing, following which the Sadar police started its investigation.It would be cleared whether it was a case of firing or an accident after the postmortem report is surfaced, informed SP Gajviye.
