Renowned doctor and social activist in Talcher Dr Sidheswar Mishra passed away on Monday morning at his Bada Danda Sahi residence. He was 87. Due to his old age illness, he was bedridden since last year.
Having heard the demise news of Dr Mishra, thousands of people of the area rushed to his residence and paid floral tributes. Dr Mishra was not only a man, but a living god for the downtrodden. He treated them for free.
He was a consulting doctor of Talcher Jail for many years and practiced at his home clinic for more than 30 years. Senior Journalist Dr Rashmiranjan Mishra is his eldest son.
The local market was shut down for a day to pay respect to late Dr Mishra.
