DQ: Min Arukh's wife served show-cause

Published on:

Politics over arbitrary multiple allotment of plots and flats under discretionary quota (DQ) is all set to hot up again after a show-cause notice issued to Forests and Environment Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh’s wife Jaylaxmi Arukh for availing two plots.

Though in 2012, the Minister had stated that he had returned one of houses to the Government, the fresh notice has raised suspicion whether the Minister has actually returned the property.

Sources said the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has served notice to the Minister’s wife Jaylaxmi relating to a plot number (No.167) allotted to her under the Kalinga Vihar Housing scheme.

Families of Minister Ashok Panda, former Minister and current MlA Padmanabh Behera, former Minister Bimbadhar Kunar, Union Minister Jual Oram, former MlAs Karendra Majhi and Umesh Swain also figured in the show-cause list who availed multiple properties.
