The Gurundia police of Sundargarh district on Monday arrested four persons of a family, including the husband of the victim woman, for allegedly torturing the woman demanding dowry.
As per an FIR lodged by lata Bag (30), her husband and in-laws had been demanding a bike and cash as dowry.
Even on March 1 night, lata’s husband Mahesh, father-in-law Abhina, mother-in-law laxmi and brother-in-law Jay attempted to kill her. But she managed to flee from the house.
The woman has two children. Investigation is on into the case, said Gurundia PS IIC NK Sarangi.
