Utkal Sammilani Mancheswar branch president Dillip Dashsharma on Saturday urged all political parties not to politicise the ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ song.
In a Press release, Dashsharma said the Utkal Sammilani wants that when Bhubaneswar has earned name and fame by going to organise international hockey matches, the ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ should also get the State anthem status.
The demand for ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ as the State anthem tag has been made since 1994 and the Utkal Sammilani is trying its best to achieve it, he added.
Where were the people, who are now connecting hockey with the State anthem status for this song, for 28 years, he questioned.
