Don't make Coop polls a farce: BJP

Published on:

The BJP on Tuesday demanded that the State Election Commission direct the Election Officers to plan for Cooperative elections on the basis of the Odisha High Court directive and to issue a “rectified” voters’ list soon. The HC had on Monday cancelled the Registrar of Cooperative Societies’ notification for inclusion of new members in the voters’ list ahead of January Cooperative polls.

“It is established from the HC’s Monday directive that BJD chief Naveen Patnaik had been adopting unfair means to win various elections from Panchayat to Parliament polls. He should stop using Government machinery for his party’s cause and desist from making the Cooperative election a farce,” Sajjan Sharma told mediapersons here. The revelations had been made recently by the authorities.
