In Parliamentary democracy, Question Hour is of greatest importance. In the name of the corona pandemic, the Modi Government has fully dispensed with the “Question Hour” in the forthcoming delayed Monsoon session of the Parliament. This is certainly arbitrary and highly undemocratic, said the Freethought Party of India (FPI).
The questions from the Opposition need to be answered to keep the Indian people well-informed and make the Modi Government “accountable” for its acts of omission and commission.
Therefore the FPI urged Prime Minister Modi, Speaker of Lok Sabha Om Birla, Chairman of the Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Naidu and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahallad Joshi to make provision for the “Question Hour” in the Parliamentary session which is set to begin on September 14.
