Leader of Opposition in State Assembly Pradipta Naik on Sunday advised farmers not to refund KALIA assistance they had received for the fault of Government officials over a year back.
“The State Government had launched KALIA scheme in a hurry to grab votes. Ruling party workers were identified as beneficiaries and distributed money. Now, when there is no election, the State Government has asked 3.41 lakh farmers to refund Rs 5,000 each in a month’s time. It is quite disappointing. Farmers shouldn’t return any single rupee,” advised BJP leader Naik.
He also demanded that the Government withdraw the decision of taking refund of KALIA money from farmers and, instead, collect the money from Government officers who had enlisted ineligible famers and distributed money to them by misusing power.
