Though there are six homoeopathic dispensaries in Mahanga block, they have failed to provide proper treatment to the patients due to lack of doctors.
In all the six dispensaries, only two doctors are available. The two doctors, apart from attending to patients at the dispensaries where they have been appointed, have been given additional charges of two more dispensaries each. Dr Prafulla Acharya is working in Nurtang, while he has been given additional charges for Champatipur and Gunupur dispensaries. Similarly, Dr Sasmita Das has been appointed at Goudagopa, but she has to take additional charges of two more dispensaries at Pallisahi and Jatadhari Ashram.
Due to heavy burden on the doctors, the dispensaries have failed to live up to the expectations of the people. In most cases, the patients are being neglected. The local people have demanded appointment of doctors in all the dispensaries soon.
