Dr Bijay Kumar Mishra, ex- Specialist in Surgery, District Headquarters Hospital, Baripada, has sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for one year and pay a fine of Rs500, in default of payment of the fine to undergo RI for one month more in a case of corruption.
The Special Judge, Vigilance, Baleswar, pronounced the sentence in his judgment on Saturday.
The Vigilance case was filed against Dr Mishra for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs400 from one Sonaram Murmu of village Kothabila under Chandua police station in Mayurbhanj district for conducting an operation on his father-in-law.
