Worried over the decision of the junior doctors association (JDA) of VSSIMSAR for a stir, Health Secretary Arati Ahuja on Friday landed at Burla.
Ahuja visited different wards of the hospital including the new female medicine ward. She also asked patients as to the facilities available in the hospital during treatment including availability of free medicines from hospital side.
She held a meeting with all the senior staff of the college and hospital including the principal and the hospital superintendent. However, it is learnt that the Secretary during the visit expressed utter dissatisfaction over the cleanness in the hospital. “She has warned the hospital authorities to be more cautious on this vital issue,” sources said.
During the visit in VSSIMSAR, the JDA members brought to her notice various problems of the MCH. They narrated the difficulties the poor patients face regularly due to callousness of the Government.
In the afternoon, she held a meeting where the members of the JDA, MlA of Sambalpur Dr Raseswari Panigrahi, RDC of Sambalpur (ND) NBS Rajput, Collector Balwant Singh and all other line officials were present to discuss on the nine-point charter of demand of the JDA. The meeting is supposed to be the most important part of her visit to Sambalpur as the outcome of it can only stop the proposed cease work by the JDA.
