Commissioner of Police (CP) Sudhanshu Sarangi on Monday clarified that a doctor is entitled to a pass, not his or her relatives during the lockdown period. Sarangi made the statement when earlier in the day, brother of a woman doctor tweeted alleging that police created trouble for him when was accompanying her sister to the hospital in a vehicle.

The CP further said that according to the ACP and the IIC, when the woman doctor requested for a pass at the police station of her locality, police immediately provided the same to her.

Sarangi further said it is not clear why the woman doctor accused the police of creating trouble for her in reaching AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, where she works. Police have requested the AIIMS authorities to probe the matter, he added.
