A homoeopathy doctor was arrested for opening fire at a man and injuring him allegedly for urinating near his clinic at the Indradhanu Market under the Nayapalli police station on Saturday. The victim identified as Maheswar Routray, a CESU staff, was shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack after being initially admitted at the Capital Hospital. His condition is stated to be stable. He sustained bullet injuries in his left leg.
Police nabbed the accused doctor Biswabhushan Pradhan and seized his revolver. “I was urinating at a waste dump near the clinic. The doctor came out and asked me why I was urinating there. I asked him what the problem was since the place was already dirty. The doctor went inside the clinic, came out with a weapon and shot at me,” said Maheswar.
