A doctor was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a rented house in Chauliaganj of Cuttack city on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as M Venkat Chandrasekhar. He had been posted in Salepur and residing in Cuttack city.
As per the owner of the house, he detected foul smell emanating from the doctor’s room. As attempts to contact the doctor were unsuccessful, the house owner, suspecting foul play, informed the police.
Cops found the body in a decomposed state and recovered it for postmortem.
Police have started an investigation into the incident to ascertain the circumstances under which the doctor died.
